About AAPT

On January 17, 1924 a small group of engineers met in Chicago, Illinois to establish an association for consideration of the technology of asphalt paving. Since then, the Association of Asphalt Paving Technologists has grown from its original 19 charter members to the present roster of over 800 members from every continent in the world.

Today AAPT is a leader in the advancement of asphalt paving technology. Members depend on the association as an authoritative source for the latest developments in the field and as a hub for communicating with fellow professionals.

AAPT’s three-day Annual Meeting is held every year, and includes asphalt-related technical sessions, symposia and workshops presented by experts in all aspects of asphalt paving technology from around the world.

Since 1928, these Annual Meeting papers have been published in AAPT’s Annual Journal. The Journal now consists of 89 volumes, and is a widely referenced and prestigious source of literature in the field.
