About
On January 17, 1924 a small group of engineers met in Chicago, Illinois to establish an association for consideration of the technology of asphalt paving. Since then, the Association of Asphalt Paving Technologists has grown from its original 19 charter members to the present roster of over 800 members from every continent in the world.

Call for Papers
The Association of Asphalt Paving Technologists is actively soliciting paper offers for its 2013 Annual Meeting and Technical Sessions in Denver, Colorado. Papers reporting on studies concerning any aspect of asphalt paving technology or related fields are considered. These can include research, design, construction and maintenance issues dealing with all types of asphalt cement, asphalt mixtures and pavement applications, including innovative ideas as well as improvements to current practice. Papers will be considered for presentation at the Annual Meeting, which is attended by specialists from academia, research organizations, material producers, contractors, National and State authorities and consultants from around the world.

Papers are also considered for publication in the prestigious AAPT Journal, or at the author’s request, in the ISI-indexed Journal Road Materials and Pavement Design (RMPD). Papers accepted for publication in RMPD will be reprinted in the AAPT Journal along with oral discussions recorded during the Annual Meeting.

The papers offered for the 2013 Annual Meeting must be submitted through the AAPT website (www.asphalttechnology.org), which will be available from May 1, 2012. The deadline for submitting papers is August 3, 2012.

2012 Annual Meeting

The three day annual technical meeting of AAPT is held in the spring every year, and includes asphalt related technical sessions, symposium, and workshops. This year's 87th Annual Meeting was held at the OMNI Downtown hotel in Austin, Texas on April 1-4, 2012.
